Delta Driven is a personal blog documenting my sim racing journey. Not from the perspective of a professional esports driver or a 10,000-iRating alien, but from that of an enthusiastic amateur trying to get faster one lap at a time.

The name Delta Driven comes from a concept every sim racer knows well: the delta.

That little number on the screen showing the difference between your current lap and your best. Sometimes it's green. Sometimes it's painfully red. Either way, it's a constant reminder that there's always something to learn, improve, and refine.

That's what this blog is about.

I'll be sharing race experiences from iRacing, lessons learned, what worked, what didn't, and how I'm trying to improve as a driver.

I'm a firm believer that data tells a story.

Using tools such as Garage61 and other telemetry platforms, I'll dive into lap analysis, driver comparisons, and the process of turning data into lap time.

Sometimes the answer is obvious.

Sometimes you spend three hours analysing telemetry only to discover you simply turned in too early.

Hardware Reviews

Like many sim racers, upgrading equipment is part of the hobby.

You'll find honest reviews and long-term impressions of gear I actually own and use, including:

Being an IT professional by day means I tend to approach problems differently.

From strange iRacing issues and performance troubleshooting to telemetry platforms, SimHub dashboards, and hardware upgrades, I'll be documenting the technical side of the hobby as well.

If I've spent hours debugging it, there's a decent chance I'll write about it.

Racecraft & Learning

Ultimately, this site isn't about buying speed.

It's about developing it.

Whether that's improving consistency, understanding tyre management, analysing braking technique, or simply making fewer mistakes, I'll be sharing the lessons I'm learning along the way.

Why Start Another Blog?

I've been blogging in another hobby for several years and have always enjoyed sharing experiences, lessons learned, reviews, and discoveries.

Sim racing feels like a perfect fit.

It's a hobby that combines motorsport, technology, data analysis, competition, and continual self-improvement—things I genuinely enjoy and spend far too much time thinking about already.

This blog gives me somewhere to document that journey.

If it helps somebody solve a problem, save some money, find a bit of lap time, or avoid making the same mistakes I've made, then it's worth doing.

The Goal

The goal isn't to become the fastest driver on the service.

The goal is simple:

Be a little faster tomorrow than I was today.

One setup change.

One telemetry session.

One race.

One lap.

One delta at a time.
